Self Reliance by Emerson

Reflection:
After reading Self Reliance, I learned more about myself. My favorite saying out of the whole essay was do not seek out of yourself, this saying takes you a long way. When I read this I started to think of the many things that it could mean. The first thing that came to mind was always do what you feel is right and don't follow others. The second thing that came to thought was stay true to yourself and you will always come out better in the end. To me my second thought was the best because I looked back at the many mistakes I have made in life and they all come from thinking I can get by and not staying true to myself. This was a great essay that could help one find them self but to me it taught me to stay true to myself and be my own leader.

Dear Diary,
I read a really great essay that could tech you about life. I loved the essay and it made me have many thoughts that changed me as a person. After reading the essay. I realized that I need to be true to myself and always do what I think is right. I need to be independent and don't rely on others for anything. I also learned to be my own leader and not follow others because it won't get you far. As Emerson says, "Do not seek out of yourself", this will take you a long way if you listen to it and embrace the meaning of it. It could mean alot of different things to people but he is trying to say, stay true to yourself and this method will always keep you in a good place.
