Anne,Bradstreet."To my dear and loving husband".1994-2007.21March2008.<http://rpo.library.utoronto.ca/poem/217.html>.
1If ever two were one, then surely we.
2If ever man were lov'd by wife, then thee.
3If ever wife was happy in a man,
Reaction:
In the poem ,Bradstreet uses compassion to express her feelings for her husband. She expresses her feelings by using imagery that includes: explaining the love by describing it as a prize more than a whole mine of gold and rivers that cannot quench. This imagery she uses, makes you think of the way that she loves her husband because it gives you a picture of how she feels. The tone that she uses is happy because she expresses this when she describes her love for her husband. I think this is an excellent poem because she is able to tell the story of her love for her husband. When I began reading it, I was able to keep in touch with the author because she guided me with her imagery and I really like that in poems.
Diary:
Dear Diary,
My husband is very loving and caring and I adore him for everything that he does for me. I am thankful for having him in my life and loving me in a special way. He brings joy to my life and I am happy to wake up to him every morning, to make my day. I hope this love will last forever and never fade away. He is a prize more than anything that the world could offer me. I am so thankful to him and I want everyone to know that I have a dear and loving husband!
Sincerely,
Anne Bradstreet
