Patrick Henry- Give me Liberty or Give me Death

Reflection:
In this selection, Henry expresses his feelings towards the President and his decision-making. I love the points that he makes in the selection such as: that if he hold backs his thought, he should be tried for treason, not to deceive self, and that he wants God to forbid all the wrong doing. The way he explained his cause for these accusations were wonderful and it made you think in a different manner. In this, you learned how selfish the government is and how everything they do is to benefit themselves or something that they are for. He expresses his feelings towards the President, so that he understands how he feels, and the reason that he feels this way so he knows that his people don't like the things he is doing. At the end Henry says to give him liberty or death and he says that because without peace in life you are going to suffer and never achieve the American Dream that you have hoped for.

Diary Entry:
Dear Diary,
I have taken into consideration alot of things about my country and the leaders and I realize that we have many flaws that we need to correct. The President needs to take a moment and take into consideration his people's feelings and try to correct the problems that we have in our community. I feel that it is my duty to step up as a leader and speak for my community because if I did not, I would be like everyone else who just lets people run over them. I would like the President to consider the reason for his decisions such as war and analyze his concern for this topic and see if it is necessary. I would just like to have peace in our country and for everyone to live a happy life. God please forbid all the wrong doing and the people that are causing our country to dissolve in the catch of an eye. Give me Liberty, or Give me Death!

Sincerely Yours,

Patrick Henry

You are not supposed to be Patrick Henry! You are experiencing hearing him - so how do you feel about the Revolution?
